It means "because", "as", "as many as", "as much as", "right", "adequate", "logical" and so on.
A-1. この仕事は努力しただけ成果が現れるので、やりがいがある。
(This work is worthwhile, because the result respond your effort.)
A-2. この大学は歴史が長いだけあって伝統がある。
（This college has the adequate tradition that has the long history.）
Section B 意味：～だから一層 接続：Ａと同じ
When using “~だけに”, there isa passion , a fever (or something like that) of the speaker or the subject of the sentence.
In many cases, there is a reason why the speaker or the subject has the passionor the fever in the sentence.
However in some case, there is notwritten a a written reason, but the reader or the listener can understand or guess from former sentences or the situation.
B-1. 今日の試合は優勝がかかっているだけに大勢のファンが詰めかけ熱烈な応援をしていた。
The passion of the reasonThe reason for the passion is “今日の試合は優勝がかかっている (If a team winwins the game, the team will be No.1) ”,
so “大勢のファンが詰めかけ熱烈な応援をしていた。(There are a lot offan to fans that go to the game and to root for their team.)”

The difference between "はずです" and "つもりです" [自分]
There is a homework for me to describe the difference between "はずです" and "つもりです"
In my opinion, the difference between "はずです" and "つもりです" is as follows,
Whento useusing "はずです", the speaker or the writer has thean opinion or guess.
However whento useusing "つもりです", the subject of the sentence has the will.
We can usuallytalksay "明日は雨が降るはずです。", because the speaker has thea guess or the opinion.
We don't usuallytalksay "明日は雨が降るつもりです。", because "雨" doesn't have thea will.
Wecan usually talksay both "彼は怪我したから次の試合に行かないつもりです。" and "彼は怪我したから次の試合に行かないはずです。".
But theirbackground arecontext is difference.
If wetalksay "彼は怪我したから次の試合に行かないつもりです。" , the speaker knows the will of the subject of the sentence.

In these days, I want to try to have conversations in English on the SKYPE.
A lot of times, I just have conversations by typing messages with typing the keyboard.
But today, I could talk and read the TV program in turns on the headphone and using the microphone.
It is good for me to develop my abilities to listen, to think, to make the sentences, and to pronounce.
The man who teaches me English recommends the TV programs, "Fringe".
And after I watch the program of episode 1 "pilot", we read the script in turns.

It is good for me to study English.
One of lesson of it is a chat with natives through a web cam like GABA.
And there hold a party to speak in English once two months.
I enjoyed the party the day before yesterday.
And I tried the chat lesson. It is good for me.
2nd. I make one of friend of foreigners who can speak English.
3rd. I listen to the music of English native.
My favorite group is "Back Street Boys". This is the latest song, " Straight through my heart ".
At any way, I will take a TOEIC test tomorrow.
I wish I get great score on it.

大前研一の問題解決必須スキル講座の受講＆レポートの提出を終え、今年はバリ島＆シンガポール旅行を楽しんだ。
バリ島では、2年ぶりにスキューバを楽しむ。
魚と戯れ、とても楽しかった。今回は、事前に予約していなかったため、バリ島の最も美しいポイントでは楽しめなかったのものの、様々な海を潜りたいと改めて思った。
